Tim Tokley is a multidisciplinary artist and educator based in London whose work explores local history, myth, and folklore, with a focus on how places carry and transform cultural memory over time. Working across film, poetry, painting, and other visual media, he develops narrative responses to landscape that blend observation, storytelling, and material study.

His recent practice centres on the foreshore of Mersea Island in Essex, where he investigates coastal change, ecological processes, and the long relationship between people and the shoreline. Using 16mm film alongside writing and installation, he creates layered depictions of place that connect environmental transformation with local histories and mythic traces embedded in the landscape.
