Sparrowhawk

Oh, high you sweep,
on upwind's barrel,
little sparrowhawk.
A safe distance to keep,
else risk certain peril.

Dark spectres walk;
these crows leap
and chatter their carol.
They mourn and moan and squawk
too fast, little hawk,
from their shadows to catch you.
For if they catch you,
no doubt they’ll dispatch you.
