The Sea Dog

Sweet boy, you bound

free with joyful spools,

just a pup of a hound,

tearing through sand

and shallow silt pools.

A new confidence found

the infinite dig,

paws now tools.

What a place: the crash, the sea, the surround,

a wonderland,

beckoned out, gently, water cools.

Upwards, floating away from the ground,

paddle, snort,  many new rules,

unwound.

Keep paddling on,

no option to stand.

Strength of spirit, riches in joules,

crowned.
